Holidays and Hot Rods

Labor day is upon us and the weather looks to be shaping up for a great holiday weekend. We have a new Tony Romas restaurant in Pigeon Forge that everyone says is great. Gatlinburg has a new Cuban restaurant that is really taking off. Bubba Gump shrimp company has found a new home right in the middle of town.



Splash country in Pigeon Forge is only open for about 2 more weeks. The Sevier County fair starts on Labor day and will run through Friday. If you have never been to a county fair, make sure that you don't miss out on all the fun. Don't fall for the vendors that travel with the fair selling food. Make sure you get over next to the pavillion and check out some of our local yocals and get some homemade fixins.



Sept. 5th and 6th - The young and the young at heart will converge on Pigeon Forge to show off their muscle during the Shades of the past Rod Run!!! Downtown is sure to be packed without a room in sight. Sneak away to Gatlinburg after you cruise for a while and stay in a cabin or chalet for close to the same price.



If you can't break free for this party, the Grand Run will bring the rodders back the next weekend. The 11th thru 14th!!!

Labor Day Holiday - September - Prime Time Stay?

Everyone wants to come to the mountains during June, July, and August. This is normally when the kids are out of school and most companies will shut down for vacation. Be prepared for the traffic and long lines at area attractions.

If you have some flexibility in your schedule then I would recommend September or November for your vacation. You can take advantage of schools being back in session for the majority. Traffic slows down to an acceptable pace and the lines for the attractions should be a little shorter. Especially during the week.

The weather will tame down somewhat and there is nothing like a 75 to 80 degree day in the Mountains!! (Of course this is Tennessee and our weather changes as fast as a winning football season)
